Around June/July last year, Baltimore singer Brent Faiyaz gave us an impressive and soulful new project titled A.M. Paradox. The opening track titled, “Lovely” featured production by musical trio Sonder. Now at this stage last year nody really knew who or what Sonder was.
Since the end of last summer, Sonder has been releasing music on their Soundcloud page without any other info or details. And in August and September 2016, the trio comprised of producers Atu and Dpat, with Faiyaz as the vocalist blessed us with a three part series of sultry, down-tempo releases that ranged between ten to twelve minutes in length.
And towards the end of October last year the newly formed trio shared a brand new single titled “Too Fast,” with a proper introduction to who they are. In a press release, the trio that first met online explain the meaning for the name Sonder. “By definition, Sonder is the realization that each random passerby lives a life as vivid and complex as your own and with that, our unique experiences all flow into one another,” it reads. “This is exactly what to expect from Sonder’s forthcoming Into EP.”
This is a trio worth keeping and eye out for, their latest project is titled “Intro” which features Too Fast and other songs that are sure to put you in a special place. However, be warned that side effects of listening to Brent Faiyaz and Sonder does have the ability to put one straight in their feels, so you have been warned.
